W.O.W.

More roses.  EB had a photo on her blog that reminded me of these pretties (actually it’s on her banner now but she changes it all the time so you might miss it).  My grandfather, whose name we borrowed for our daughter Fallon, and affectionately called Bumpa, had these in his safe deposit box for years as they are silver, even the food-touching part.  He and my grandmother gave them to me – probably because I was the first to get married, and became a "W".  My silver chest is an eclectic collection of monogrammed silver from both sides of my family, in addition to pieces added from friends, and others found in dusty shops, brought home and shined up.  I cave for anything with "M" or "W".  I love setting the table with all the various pieces – reminds me of all my loved ones.

Some messing around with Photoshop.  Fun to try out the different options.  I’ve printed some of these on transparency to put in my journal, and will write down the stories behind each silver pattern and engraving.

Speaking of "M"s, scored this custom necklace from ETSY.  It is the coolest bezel I have ever seen on a typewriter letter.  Love when an artist finds a way to Make It Your Own.  And these tags rock too.

Visit Elizabeth’s shop for all the cool stuff she makes with typewriter keys, watchparts, and….well, just go to KeysandMemories.etsy.com  And then pop over to see Kelly, and scoop up several batches of wonderful patterned die-cut doo-dahs for your journal at The Paper Pixie.

The scene from here…..no school today!  I have the new Somerset Studio, the March Vogue (over one inch thick!), the Oscar Special Vanity Fair, and Illusive 2 (I’ve already listed 30 sites to visit from this book!)  Who needs food?

    good morning,
it’s been a while… busy life and worries at home kept me away from catching up my favorite blogs and commenting…
When I saw the second picture ( with the different silver work) I said : ” Wow, where did she find all this stuff with the right letters on ?” I hardly have seen so many different Γ nd beautiful silver work !
And then you say “photoshop”… But the engraving is real ( ?) or did you do that with photoshop ? , you do really possess these beauties ? and you just altered the “WOW” photo in photoshop ? ( Thanks for the tutorial !…).
I’ m going to visit the etsy shops you mentioned, cause I hardly find the time to stroll myself and mostly when you mention something, it’s my taste too…
Like Suziblue, you once mentioned. I watch her video’s when I can and often several times : she ‘s a remarkable person, maybe a bit “mad”, but she makes me laugh and I adore her works. I learned from her too. So thanks for mentioning her in the past !
No snow this year here in Flanders in Belgium… My wild cherrytree is starting to blossom with light pink flowers, my daffodils are starting to bloom… Spring is coming, early, maybe too early cause of the global warming of the earth…, but ( keeping the cause in mind and doing what we can do at home ourselves) maybe we better enjoy each day…
    greetings
    Inge

Love the picture of the snow covered branches…. We had 40 degrees celcius yesterday – in other words….HOT! Just sat in front of the fan all day…. Love the way you present things – you didn’t just show us the cutlery – you laid it over the Sid Dickens tile (love his stuff!) Thanks for sharing your collection. When I say “can I have the good spoon?” Hubby laughs and says – “To me there are no good spoons – so you can have whichever one you like” – he just doesn’t get the whole “good spoon” thing. There are the standard spoons – then there are the beautiful arty ones. “The good spoons”. Glad I’m not the only one who feels this way.
    Love – MB.
