It's been nearly 100* for days….with more to come.  Naturally, we've been floating around in the pool.

And the latest on the dove family:  there won't be one.  At least not this summer, at least not outside my window.  I was really careful to give them their privacy especially after that second egg arrived.  I made sure the window and blinds were closed when I was vacuuming so I didn't freak them out.  I kept Winston away too.  They left….haven't seen either parent (or heard them) in 5 days.  Bummer.

Oooh, there's thunder!  I wonder if that will give us a break from the heat?  Or if we'll lose power?  I'm outta here!  Hope you're staying cool!

    Looking forward to jumping in with both feet. His Confessions of a Window Dresser inspired me deeply after buying it for a friend.
    Now…the doves…..erg. Please keep us posted. One must have a strong stomach when dealing with many realities of nature….me?…I obviously do NOT have said strong stomach…..sending crossed fingers and :

    Hmm. Nearly 100 degrees? Welcome to late spring in Texas! Saw a description of the four seasons in Texas (and Louisiana, too, I think)that goes like this: Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer and Christmas. That just about says it all. [I wouldn’t live anywhere else, though – even though I hate the heat.]

    Driving home from Wildwood last night, it was STILL 90 degrees….summer came quick to Jersey this year, didnt it…sorry about your doves…i have about a million pigeons you can have if you want lol! Keep cool!

    I hope you didn’t lose your power.
    In Michigan we have had a couple back to back days of some heavy storms. Lot’s of downed trees and power lines.
    We have been lucky to escape negative results thus far.

    Had no clue Simon had a website…thanks for that! The previous post about journals was so gorgeous and juicey, a belated comment of exclaim! (life here has been one episode of craziness after another lately and I’m trying to catch up on everything) So sorry about the doves, hoping next spring will bring you a resident dove family and that things have cooled off by now. xox
