the shape of things

I obsess about several shapes.  A close relative to one of my faves, the maltese cross, is the quatrefoil.  I also obsess about punches.  I'm always on the prowl for new images.  You know I swooned when I saw this one:  HERE.

The black and red pattern you see in the upper left is a photo of a wood box at our front door (for shoes!)  Here are the close-ups of the punch-outs from rubbings done over textured wallpaper on colored paper, for GPP Street Team Crusade No. 21:

Many of you have written kind notes asking how my sister Shannon is doing.  I was going to refrain from giving an update here to respect her privacy…but then I decided we could use your continued prayer and good vibes.  As you may know she left the hospital in time for her 40th birthday {yay!} but after a week home she's back in.   It still warms my heart to think of all the responses we got when I asked for your words of cheer.  I know you will join me in sending positive energy her way again.  xoxo

    Hello Michelle,
You’ve been quite busy in your journal !!! I love the results, especially your sprayed layered backgrounds. I long to have more time to be creative.. Another two weeks and a half and then we have vacation !…I participated in the crusades, but I’ve seen so many things at the blogs of the other participants that I want to do more, more, more…
I’m sorry to hear that your sister is not so well again. It is hard disease to bear… ( my niece lost her 4-year old son through this disease…). Maybe the doctors can’t cure her, but I hope they can give her time and as much comfort as is possible and that she soon can return home again. I’m thinking of you all.
    greetings

Well, I’m sending lots more positive healing vibes for Shannon. I think it takes more than one wave of vibes to get things really rolling, so I’m sure we can all Increase the wave of positive healing energy to her. I’m on the West Coast of Canada… so I’m sending a little of the special magic we have here in my thoughts for her. Kisses upon your soul, Shannon…. be well soon.

I am sorry to hear that Shannon is back in the hospital. I was hoping the news would be of sunburns narrowly avoided and long afternoons by the pool. Since we are a visual bunch on the Street Team, perhaps something to visualize might help focus our energy. Can we help you visualize something on Shannon’s behalf? In the meantime, I send strong summer vibes for good health and wishes for a swift return home.

You’ve done it again….an inspiring and exciting post. The colors, ideas and tools here are amazing…and in a very short, readable format.
Now about Shannon…There is nothing more powerful than knowing that “your people” are in your corner, on the job…got your back.
I know that I’ll be waking every morning with a prayer for her comfort and recovery…drifting off to sleep with the same. I know that she’s feeling your love and all of the positive energy that you’ve swept up from your fans. We’re here for you.

I’m so sorry that your sister’s back in the hospital again. Getting out for her birthday had to be fantastic and then to go right back in again is really sad. One mement of sunshine and fresh air and them back to the laboratory to be a lab rat again. Be the best lab rat you can be, Shannon. It’s even okay to bite someone–particularly if they’re doing a painful procedure and your teeth just happen to be very close. Not that I’m recommending you bite everyone, but some people deserve it. Get well faster!

I too, am very sorry to hear about your sister having to go back to the hospital again so soon. Best wishes with lots of positive thoughts & vibes!
I go in to the hospital myself on Monday and will spend the next 4+ months recuperating from back surgery, while my spine hopefully fuses.
I’ll think of Shannon from my hospital bed that we both have speedy recoveries!!

This is seriously weird. On the same day that you posted about the quatrefoil shape, I too posted an image of that shape. It formed a painted border at the base of an old church organ. Very gothic and Puginesque. You can see it here: http://thefadingrose.blogspot.com/2008/06/church-inspiration.html
Positive vibes to your sister Shannon. xxx

    Michelle,
what kind of spiral bound notebook are you using for all the hugs and kisses pages?
The pages come out so flat.
