Oooh! Up for pre-order is the new Dan Brown novel The Lost Symbol. And this weekend Angels and Demons hits the screen. Can't wait. I loved the Da Vinci Code (book was better than the film) and soaked up all the connections made with signs and symbolism. On my drawing table is a study of symbols, with my own personal connections….the obvious: a cross, a pink rose, and a four leaf clover. and the secret: an "S".

Friday @ 4:15 I will be honoring my sister with this permanent sign. If I could see her reaction I know it would be a roll of the eyes, just before they well up with tears.

On Sunday, Shannon's husband Andy will be honoring her with a team of walkers for Great Strides to benefit Cystic Fibrosis. Love that their mantra is to turn CF into Cure Found. Love that it is on our birthday.

Beautiful! My tats are all a celebration or remembrance of a major event in my life, so I “get” you girlfriend. I finally heard your voice message, and the lovely sound of your voice! I will email you. I love that you ae keeping Shannon around, and sharing her with us. I too LOVED the Dan Brown books, and I think this movie looks way better than the first…plus, it has Ewan McGregor in it…oh la la!

Love the cross design and love that you’re going to get a tattoo honouring Shannon. I too have one (where the sun don’t shine!) but it’s been there for…ummmmmm…..35 years now! Joan also had a couple of tattoos, one of the yin/yang symbol and another of a tiny dove – she got hers later in life and I think they are a very personal thing. They don’t have to be on your neck for all the world to see! lol….though the rose would be very pretty winding it’s way across your nose! hahahahah (don’t do it!!!!)

What a gorgeous design and beautiful tribute to your sister. Go team Shannon! As for the movie, I MUST go see it asap. What usually happens is that I keep putting it off and then it leaves the theatres and then I have to see it on dvd – just not the same with this sort of movie. I remember when I was reading the book and thinking – “I so hope they make a movie of this, but HOW IN THE WORLD will they pull it off?!!” The books is almost always far better, but still…I don’t want to miss this one. xoxo Serena
