same day, different subject….sort of

These letter masks are my not-so-new favorite thing.  I’ve had them for a year but often forget to pull them out since they are stored differently than my other stencils.  I’ve been loving using them with spray, and then going back in and redefining with acrylic or pencil.

I’ve been asked about taking apart my journals.  The detail below should explain it.

Your journal pages are just too amazing, Michelle. Love seeing all these roses since we’re in the midst of a blizzard right now. Just gorgeous, as always! xox

You really are one smart cookie! I never would’ve thought of doing that with one of those coil type journals! Thanks for the great idea! Have a great weekend, hope you guys don’t get the huge snowstorm that just passed over us in the Midwest (though, as usual, it didn’t dump nearly as much snow as was predicted… darn it!!!), K.

That is amazing…now where did you get the kraft paper journals? My son (the 15 year old) told me he wanted to learn spray paint art…I will have to direct him to your site for inspiration!

I was going to email you about the spiril, and you answered my question before I had the chance! I really enjoy your work!

Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! to both entries. The energy these pages express and the sheer thrill of splashing (spraying) around pigment and line. Yummaroni!
Ditto on the brown paper journals question. Did you make them? – which means you have a binder or you went to Kinko’s. Or – did you buy them? I made a new journal from brown paper newspaper inserts (that hold all the ads, etc.) It is nice for drawing and pasting but I am finding the paper is a bit thin for most wet media – and spray paint soaks through the paper -interesting effects on flip side by accident though. I was inspired by Wendy Addison’s sketchbook in Somerset. I have searched for a brown paper book but alas.

Gorgeous colours on your journal pages M! I’m going to make myself a journal to take on my trip and am definitely going to pre-do some backgrounds on some pages so I don’t suffer from “blank page” syndrome! You’ve given me some great ideas!
