MWRTapple quote

Still on apples.  Thanks for your feedback on your apples-of-choice to eat, and to use for baking.  I forgot all about apple crisp!  Maybe I will give it a try for Thanksgiving.  A favorite memory:  Dad took me and my friends out after our first KISS concert for apple pie and they served it with cinnamon ice cream.  *swoon*

Did you know this?

That the apple is from the rose family?  I was clueless, but it doesn't surprise me to find out this connection.  Gives me goosebumps to learn this!  Above are the new-to-me Gala apples I am loving, and a photo of one of my last roses for the year.

Love the quote! I didn’t know that apples and roses are the same family! I do know that Gala apples are really good! And, they work for baking too, so if you make a pie, or a crisp, you can use Galas. Cool!

Way cool! I did not know that. Thank you for the new wrinkle in my brain 🙂
Love the pages, especially the way you worked the patterning into the apple. And what a fabulous quotation!

Loving the spread – especially the way you’ve stencilled the apple and that very pretty border on the right page….very very cool quote too. Thanks for sharing so much- I don’t always comment, but I always look and enjoy what you show 🙂

I did know about apples and roses; I also know that potatoes are in the nightshade family, which is why you’re not supposed to eat them raw!
I love Gala apples and also Fujis. I love to slice Galas into the pan when I’m cooking pork chops and let them caramelize–yum!
And that quote is great, thanks for sharing. GBS is one of my faves, has been since college.
