my little piece of earth

Celebrating Earth Day was different when the kids were little.  There was always something going on at the elementary schools to help them appreciate this planet we share.  We don't participate in those activities any more, but I am proud the kids have grown to respect the importance of recycling.  Today I was in the yard and gave a prayer of thanks for our green grass, beautiful trees, and blooming rose bushes.

It was a terrific weekend spent with girlfriends….no incriminating photos, just the evidence that our hostess knows how to pick the right place to eat.

Word is the Hot Topic rubber is on the way to me so I should be shipping all orders this week!  Thanks for joining in on this fundraiser – it was a roaring success!  Final report coming soon.

Yeah for the new Hot Topic Rubber!…..juicing up the stamp pads as we speak.
I was 14 when the first Earth Day was celebrated. We skipped school (it sounded like a great excuse, like every other holiday) and ran through the streets outside D.C. in Kenwood, a neighborhood lined with Japanese Cherry Trees…scooping up handfuls of blossoms and being little Earth Muffins: waist length hair, embroidered jeans, Yardley frosted Slickers lipstick, peasant blouses….ah, memories…thanks for that.

had to smile when I read Lisa’s comment….
When I see the photo of the rosebush that is growing, I understand why your love for green and red comes from !
The weather is really nice here in Belgium for the moment and honestly : I can almost see the grass grow !
It’s possible to see the difference in lenght of the grass in the morning and then in the evening…
The garden is so full of green and splashes of colors for the moment… I really enjoy it when I’m home.
    greets

Those roses are BEAUTIFUL! We are planning on still using the raised garden Mr. Forcryeye made for me, it is far enough from the house that we should be able to use it. I am already pre-planning my new landscaping…and will include a memory garden. 🙂 I can’t wait to see the new rubber! woo hoo! You guys are all the best! AND…I have NEVER found a four leaf clover…ever…and you and my Mom find them all of the time. LUCKY girls!
