My studio is in a state of Upheaval. With company coming I’m scurrying to finish the clean&purge I started earlier this week. I wish I had one more week, and a dumpster. Feels good to toss out stuff. If you don’t USE it, shake it off.

My theory, when going through closets or emptying out favorites lists on my browser, is that if I haven’t used something in a year, throw it out.
It’s good as a theory. -
oh i like that saying…shake it off. smiles, andra

whoa, wait! where are you tossing this stuff? you do know that one girls trash is another girls treasure. lol Good for you to admit you have stuff you don’t use, I thought something was wrong with me. ~Monica 😉
p.s. my mom says “shake it off” when I tell her something ticked me off. VERY GOOD ADVICE! 🙂 -
Been so trying to get myself to do that! It’s hard when you’re a hoarder.
-
I went all goofy at your choice of quote. (see what I posted on Flickr) I second the notion of diving through your dumpster!

Oh I hear you Michelle… am trying to set my studio up… but I have so much stuff it is unbelievable…. and yes, it is hard to throw things out when you are a hoarder! lol

Love that quote! It is hard to get rid of our stuff but very easy to tell my husband he should get rid of his.

I’ve been rearranging studio furniture since a week ago Wednesday. The furniture is all moved, but I have junque to put away (hmmm… where would that be?) Me thinks that some of my junque may actually be junk (as my DH says). I am taking a box of magazines and papers to a Girls Club I’ve been asked to teach this Thursday, but there are about 5 more boxes that must go (somewhere). I can empathize with you, Michelle.

Do you know how hard it is for me to do that when I have this little voice saying ‘you know when you get rid of that you will need it’, lol.

I attempted to clean out my studio last week. It was completely destroyed. My sister keeps telling me she is going to write a letter to Clean Sweep for my basement. Good luck in the purging!

Oh, I’ve been feeling this way all week…getting rid of clutter is good for our health, isn’t it? Hope you are having a fun time with your friend this weekend.

Over Christmas vacation (yes, I did take a week off work this year) I finally went out and bought some of that white wire shelving and installed it. This weekend I have been cleaning and organizing in my “studio”, which has spilled over into the spare bedroom closet.
I am not a thrower…I am a collector. People are always bring me their junk….and it is my treasure!! I am hoping in the next week or so to have an actual area to work!!
Until later,

I really love that quote!

I could not have said it better myself it is so incredibly satisfying to clean and re-organize.

Oh my God woman, you kill me. I am at work laughing my butt off (bonus) at the picture you made me…you are the best!

A dumpster? You will have groupies lined up for miles to get a peice of what you throw out.
I love a clean studio.
I love company.
I also love creative chaos.
That gives me an idea…when are You coming for another visit? -
I’m “cleaning and purging” as well. Must be that time of the year. Plus, my work space is about 10×10. It’s all about organization. I NEED to see what I have.
Sorry I missed meeting you last week. Susanna and I had a great time and saw some amazing work. -
I’d like to see what your clutter can inspire….. I too am in favor of de-cluttering this time of year. Gets me ready for the freshness of Spring.
I enjoy your art and your sharing, of all kinds of inspiration. Glad I found your blog.

http://www.freecycle.com It is available in NJ. Not sure
how widespread it is. You have to give something away for FREE and then you can request stuff. You can read the emails and get free stuff. Great for some crafters. Just a thought.
