Does your apron look like this?  I used mine as the tester from my graphics….looks so cool with acrylic and spray paint evidence, and now silkscreen don’t you think?  Aprons, like the scratch paper on your work surface, tell alot about us.  (I hope you’re saving your scratch paper for your journal – that stuff is priceless!!)

Are you making stuff for the holidays?  Every Tuesday for 9, or was it 10, weeks I’ve been taking a silk screen printing class.  I finally got good at it and it’s over!  At the beginning I made a real mess of the printing.  Might sign up for the next session because I have so much more stuff I wanna make.  I may even get myself one of those desk top screenprinting things so I can keep making these shirts.  We used a photographic process to make the stencils.  Lower left one was made last night.  Before you ask, I’m not going to sell these….but I might be giving some away *wink*.

I took these with my cellphone because I forgot my camera again!  Check out Susanna measuring and making her print all even and perfect.  I was a little less precise.  Bill, our instructor, said he’d never had students (like me and S) who turned out so many shirts.  Hey, we knew how to make the most of our time.

I wish I would have made this one bigger.  I put it on the back of a hoodie and it looks a little small.  Note to self for next session:  GET BIGGER.

Very Cool!!! How clever (and talented) a girl you are! I always look forward to what you are up to next! Wish I were as creative as you and had just a little more time to create!

P.S. – I forgot to mention… LOVE that apron. I may have to do a little experimenting myself … most likely NOT with silk screening tho. I think I will stick to stenciling and spray painting…maybe a little sewing. You have given me yet another thing to ponder on.
    Until later,

So gorgeous. Very appetizing! I watch people silkscreen and don’t get it, but it’s fascinating. And your shirts are really good. You should take one or two to give also, next time you have a grave dirt delivery to make. But then, you already thought of that!
    Always learning new things!

*drool* Those are so great. I know you said you prefer to give them away, but those would sell really well I think. So awesome!

Holy Toledo, you DID create alot! They look great! I agree with, Carrie, I think these would sell really well. You were a fun classmate, Michelle. You have such a wonderful enthusiasm for creating and you jump right in and get to work. It was interesting to see you in action. 🙂

Oh Jeez…Look at YOU rock that machine!…yes, I have an apron and it looks like a few bottles of crappy paint exploded onto it….which would be TRUE.
You have 3 kids at home, a career, a hubby, a growing fan base. How DO you do it??!!!. Yikes, Super Girl, fly on!

Silk screen is just stamping writ LARGE and more complicated! I’m so jealous of your class and will be on the lookout here! Have an art friend who does pieced work with vintage (and otherwise) images that relate to women’s work and pollution who does silkscreen work on her fibers, wonderful technique! Its fascinating because it is so large but still keeps the compositional feel of stamping. Never got to the point where I was proficient at. Oh my, your work is wonderful!
Where did the circular image come from, very gorgeous! Merry! xo, Shirl
