  • checking in and catching up

My last post was Halloween?  Next week is New Years?  My oh my how time has flown.  It's not like I've been slacking….the past two months have been a whirlwind.  Let me catch up by saying a belated Happy Thanksgiving, a belated Happy Birthday to my favorite rock star (I post every year here), and a belated Merry Christmas.  We'll be sending out cards late this year – but we have a good excuse. The news from here is that we are in the process of buying a home in south Jersey.  Graham started a new job and has been commuting home on weekends or we visit him at his temporary digs.  If all goes as planned we will be leaving this home that we've loved for twenty years and will begin adventures at a new address.  It will be our sixth move as a family – while still stressful it is so much easier now that the kids are grown – they've been a terrific help in packing and prepping this home for a sale.

A big step in our process is getting my studio contents into storage.  That happens next week.  Ack!!!  So I have to put Green Pepper Press on vacation mode for a few months.  Anticipated reopening is February.  It's likely you won't hear much from me until then.  I've got a lot to do!  I'll say it now, a little early, so I can cross one more thing off my to-do list:  Happy New Year and cheers to a wonderful 2019!!

  • Merry Christmas!

Wishing you a blessed holiday, whatever you celebrate.  Here's our annual photo card, and evidence of the family at a HIM concert. Theme this year honors our favorite band as we followed them on their farewell tour.  Toasting many fun years seeing them live (x22).  We will always have the music, and the memories.

  • Old Faithful – TAGS

The July/August issue of Somerset Studio just arrived.  Below is a sneak peek of my article. Who doesn't love tags?  I consider them to be perfect platform for all kinds of creativity and have been using them for over twenty-five years, therefore I call tags "Old Faithful". The entire magazine is full of them as that was their selected theme.  Lots of good stuff.

In May/June I was lucky to be featured in Cloth Paper Scissors with my new Grid Iron stamps.  More tags!  Thanks Jeannine for the opportunity to show off the new rubber.

And speaking of faithful….you know I'm a die-hard HIM fan.  They have announced their farewell tour. *sad face*  Just got my tickets today – to two shows.  *happy face Wouldn't it be nice if the threat of a farewell tour was similar to other bands who have claimed the same, but continue to hit the road?  If not, we can always hope for solo projects from the beloved members.

My favorite rock star is 40 today.  Collage of faces is not quite a perfect timeline….but it sure was fun to review his chameleon-ness over the years, and how much he has entertained us.  Hyvää Syntymäpäivää – here's to at least another 40!

Day 29:  For several weeks there has been a lot of focus on manhole covers in our home.  Everyone had gotten into it.  My requests to family members to collect photos of their daily findings may have been met with raised eyebrows, but all complied.  As I'm out and about with Sam in tow he is never surprised when I pull over to get out and investigate a dip in the pavement.  Often that would lead toward a few more steps this way, then that way, to see if I missed anything.  Even my parents got involved.  To follow is the evidence that my family "gets" me.  Just below:  a custom printed mat for our basement "pub".  It arrived just three days after I ordered it!  You can get one HERE.  I wouldn't consider it a hardy door mat, in fact I won't be placing outside.  It's going in the pub of course.

And look at this beauty sent in by Barbara Pandos – taken while she was in Helsinki.  (My loyal readers know why this is so special).

So I got to thinking…..wouldn't this be an appropriate cover for Helsinki too?  I borrowed the edges from Gabriele's photos shown on Day 17.

(For those who don't know – the center is actually a Heartagram belt buckle….the Heartagram being the symbol for my favorite band HIM, from Helsinki).

Special thanks to my family serving as roving reporters this month. xoxo

    MWSTPATS2014

It has been a lucky few days for me – three HIM concerts in a row.  NY, PA, NY.  So much fun to see the band in top form, spend time with fellow fans, and even visit an ice bar!  And this week, SPRING!  Lifting a glass to toast the day, cheers!
