There are dozens of buds, sharing their enthusiasm for the new season. This was the first to show off yesterday. She was in full bloom later today. I think this is a record, roses in April!
And the lilacs are full of fragrance. They are fleeting so it's fun to share cuttings with neighbors. The scent reminds me of walking to elementary school…passing by the neighborhood bushes filled with purple messengers of sweetness. Fallon helped plant it so this one is hers.
How is your garden growing?
We are in full bloom…almost all the rose bushes are producing…I have 21 in bloom and 4 new plants trying really hard…..almost all of them a re first season so i am excited!

What beautiful flowers…… I’d really love a lilac but we have the wrong type of soil (acid)
We have some beautiful acid yellow euphorbias stealing the show in our garden….. and a forysthia just ‘going over’
We are having the maddest April showers at the moment…… blue skies one minute and sunshine and then the heaviest rain. We are still having frosts too (I’m in the South of England)

The rose is beautiful, Michelle, and the lilacs, too! Every thing is early this year. My roses are ready to pop and my iris are blooming already! It’s actually been to warm for some early spring flowers to last very long, so I feel I need to enjoy them quickly! Enjoy your garden today!
I was marveling in the blooms in my garden today too. No roses yet ! I am not an expert like you in that area but the lilacs and tulips are making me happy !

I had three lilac bushes in my backyard when I lived in the NJ suburbs. One was white and had no scent. One was light lavender and smelled heavenly. And the third was a deep lavender, absolutely beautiful color — and it had the worst smell of any flower I’ve encountered. It smelled like urine! Amazing how, like humans, appearances can be so deceiving, LOL.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your garden with us 🙂 I don’t have a garden, really, but I do have a box of lavender that fits on my balcony railing, and it’s been greening up pretty steadily. Going to plant veggies and herbs in pots this year too. I guess I better get on that!

My forsythias were outstanding this year and my lilac bushes are in serious bud and ready to pop into bloom any day now. I’ve seen lilac bushes all over the city in full bloom but mine are darker and later.
I got my stamps and stencils today–so yummy. I have things I need to do tomorrow morning but then I get the rest of the weekend to play. Yay!!

Colorado is “springing” to life NOW. My xeriscape rock garden out front is shooting up green sprouts like mad. Lilacs in da’ hood?….present. Cherry trees? here and done, beautiful fresh purple and/or green leaves are popping out where the blossoms used to be. Everything looks like its on steroids. Good news or way to early to be in balance with nature?….I guess we’ll see. The pink rose just reminds me so much of your Shannon and now I’ll see a lilac and think: Fallon. Happy Spring BFF!
Beautiful roses and lilacs Michelle. When I was in elementary school, I remember clipping the lilacs in the back of our yard, wrapping the stems up in tin foil and bringing them in to my teacher. Love the memories your photos sparked -and it’s so true- the flowers popping up so early are spectacular! xo

No roses for me, the deer eat them!! I have to settle for jewelry! Lilacs are my favorites, wish they lasted longer!!!
