A little birdie is tellin’ ya…….

Mwsomlife

My sweet friend Judi loaned me her copy of Somerset Life…..and WOW!  THIS is a stunner!  I’m one of those magazine shoppers that drifts through all the sections and will buy anything that has one page that appeals to me.  One page!  I admit, I rarely read the text….pretty bad since I write articles myself, don’t you think?  But THIS new publication by our friends at Stampington…..this has more than one page that will make you buy it.  Really.  It is pretty, it is handsome, ….there is alot to SEE, and yes – even to read.  Really, go look for it.  It may be placed with the other artsy magazines or it may be in with the lifestyle ones.  I dare you.  Cha-ching, it’s in your basket.

I have never seen a magazine introduce you to an online journal or blog.  Kinda cool that they are acknowledging the community we find ourselves in, like right now.  (Even cooler that they feature this one alongside two others!)  When you are a blogger you tend to know handfuls of other bloggers……then you bring your copy of Somerset Life to show the nice receptionist at your dentist office what it is you do and she gives you a blank stare.  Evidence that there are scores of people who don’t know what they are missing with their morning coffee.  I can travel the world by blog-hopping, browse amazing art, read touching stories, laugh with clever and talented writers, visit interesting shops, and see unexplored places.  And the friends!  I have met so many people, just from this little url…..I’ll just share the last line from my article…..I say:  As Suess said "Oh the places you’ll go. (Just don’t forget to leave a comment)."

Michelle I am just reading this wonderful mag – Somerset Life – which we sell in our shop in Australia.
I am an absolute magazine junky, I too can buy a mag on just one picture that I love. Am just checking out the blogs mentioned, wow.
Have been an admirer of your work forever, have your books as well, must confess I too do not reaad all the text, I think I could not buy another book and not run out of something to read.
Best wishes from the other side of the world in Australia.

I was just wondering where I could get this mag in Australia and then saw Jacky’s comment. It really is as you say, a groups of people from all over the world visiting over cyber space. I live in Victoria but met Jacky when I went to Western Australia, a four hour flight from here, to an Art Retreat, she and her daughter organized with Nina B, Michael deMeng and Lesley R., small world.

I just picked this up last week, and was absolutely blown away! In fact, I’m going to pick up a couple more copies to pass along to friends! Talk about eye *and* brain candy…

Yup, more magazine junkies confess; my house is literally overrun with magazines; they are in the car, in my many bags, all over the living room, by my bedside; I transported over 100 magazines to and from England….sigh! I try to resist, but cannot. I buy almost all the Somerset publications and Oprah and Living and good food and and and the list goes on and on. This one is great and I just love how you have taken the elements apart and put them back together for this post. Clever…. Very clever.

Got my copy yesterday morning and then had to make a mad dash to the bus because I got so distracted. It is beautiful. I was really excited to see that they included blogs. There are so many creative and generous people blogging….
