happy thanksgiving

The meal is over, dishes are done.  My parents and brother-in-law are tucked into their hotel rooms.  We had a great day.  Hope you did too.  It's been a tough year, but there is much to be thankful for.  To be with loved ones today was very special.  We lit a candle in the center of the table, to remember my sister.  How perfect is that centerpiece?  Maureen gave it to me this week.  Looks like there may even be 65 roses there.

I am grateful for YOU.  You ran to the rescue when I needed comfort - with your good thoughts, your kind words, your lovely gifts, your beautiful messages, and of course – your *winks*.  This year of sorrow will always be remembered hand-in-hand with the outpouring of love you expressed.  Thank you.

    Chelle,
Happy Turkey Day. We were thinking of you and yours. Grandma, Scott and his friend Heidi joined Mom, Dad Katharine and I for dinner. We love you and miss you.

Happy Thanksgiving. When I was growing up we always spent the day at my maternal grandparents. I went over the night before so I could help with the preparations. One of my favorite things to do was to lay out Grandma’s special dinnerware. You post reminded me of those fond memories. Blessings to you & your family. Much grace & comfort through this holiday season.

I can image this thanksgiving wasn’t the easiest one, but being together can give comfort and strenght.
I’m glad that I was one of the many people who tried to give comfort.

I agree. Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. Best to you and your family this Thanksgiving, Michelle.

I can’t believe it- our grandmother’s had the same pattern! I have place settings for 12, but only one matching tea cup! I’ve been trying to collect complimentary cups for the set over the years. I believe it is the Joan pattern by Noritake? I also havev a very fab set from my other grandma and one from my mom.
I haven’t lit my remembrance candle since my mom died last Spetember 2007. I keep putting it off!
