there’s an app for that?

It's become part of our vernacular.  I cracked up when Castle said it in a recent episode.  Here's one I discovered today:  a virtual lighter.  Perfect for concert goers.  I was watching Oprah this afternoon and during Elton John's performance of Tiny Dancer (my fave!) there were audience people holding up their phones with flickering flames.  The coolest!  I don't even have an iphone but had to share this.  Found via Alan @ Artoftheiphone.com  (You can also search lighter or glowstick on itunes).

MWlighters

When Graham took Peter to his first concert (KISS) the band requested that everyone open and hold up their phones (back when they still had hinges) and the place was glowing in white and blue.   No burned fingers (or hair) or sore thumbs from reflicking.  I thought that was remarkably clever….until I saw these.  I think I have a reason to get an iphone now ;)

Hey thanks for this. I have downloaded my free zippo app for the Spandau Ballet – Tears for Fears concert I am going to tonight. Very cool.

It’s funny you posted this today. We go to this Irish pub pretty much every Saturday night, & last Saturday, there was a band playing. Just a bunch of covers, with a girl singer. Our friend Tim has an iphone w/ the lighter app & was holding it up. 🙂
HIM for me in 4 days. 🙂

LoL! That’s brilliant (no pun intended). I’m going to have to point this out to my friends that have iPhones!

Oh there are plenty more reasons to get an iPhone and if and when you finally get one you will know why. My husband got me one for Christmas and I was slow to get going on it but now I have about 180 apps (crazy I know – don’t use them all of course because my judgement is getting better) but it is really amazing!
