Ten years ago today would have been a Sunday.  All the newspapers came out, reporting on the unfurling event.  HEADLINES!  Art on the front pages!

I was so happy to see that the anniversary got covered yesterday. See The Daily News revisit HERE.  I was kinda hoping Google Doodle would have celebrated it.  I'll continue tossing the confetti over here.

I only saw it in the media. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law saw it. Said it was amazing. Saffron is such a great color — not as garish as orange, more complex than yellow.

Thanks for chiming in Stephanie! The saffron was the perfect color to spruce up the park in the middle of winter. Looked good with and without snow. Fun to hear your relatives went!

Perfect inspiration for your vow to use more orange!

Erin, thanks for stopping by. Can’t say I’m vowing to use more orange, but it did show up in my Gates Journal. Pages coming soon.

I had a transformative experience seeing the Gates, one that I will never forget. I was deliriously happy the entire time. I will be forever grateful to Christo and Jean-Claude for their amazing vision and the marvelous gift it turned out to be for me.

Ann, thanks for chiming in. I love hearing about your experience. It truly was a gift. Deliriously happy is a good way to put it – you could feel the positive vibe in the park from all visitors, local and from far away places.

Again, I wish I had seen it myself. The Gates is a great example of what I personally believe art is for, to add beauty to the world.
