still growing

It may officially be fall….and the nights are cooler, but my roses haven't gotten the memo.  Once the first frost arrives I'm sure they will refrain from showing off….but right now they are glorious.  The first one I'm showing you was one of my Mother's Day gifts – called Hot Cocoa.  It is such an unusual color – very rusty red with brownish edges.  I couldn't quite capture it, but aren't they pretty?

And this one….I should name her.  She was from the first plantings last July.  Look how much she's grown!  I can't even count the number of bouquets she's gifted me with.  It's interesting how some of the roses have grown at a faster pace.  There is one from last year that is serious lagging behind even the ones from this year.  This one….she is the star.

Oh that Hot cocoa is beautiful. My poor roses try to bloom, but they have to rely on water from the heavens, as with our dire straits with water here, I don’t water my garden any more….

Beautiful! Mine stopped blooming a while ago! I have them planted four different places in the yard. The last ones we planted in front of the chicken coop! Thanks for sharing the beauty.

These are gorgeous! It wasn’t a great year for my roses. One of them is just a few inches high because it is apparently a yummy rabbit snack. The others were stressed by the unusual weather. But I do have a few lovely blooms to look at still.

Wow, wow, wow ! I think there may be a lot of pink help going on to help your roses grow. Mine did poorly this year too – too much rain at the beginning of the summer. They are looking robust now but not many days left before a frost here, I think.
So appreciate the love you feel from their abundance !
    Happy Wednesday, talented One !

So glad to see your bounty of blooms, Michelle. Isn’t it funny how roses are like people? Some are bold and fearless while others a slow and tentative but (hopefully!) put down deep roots. Keep snipping your blooms but no pruning now and ease off on the feeding. It’s time to get their pj’s ready.

Just stunning and uplifting as we know who those glorious roses were planted for and why they are blooming so beautifully for you. The Mother’s Day roses…lovely! Nail polish, paint, and roses have the coolest names! oxox
