naughty or nice

Don't you feel like preparing for Christmas is an exercise of endurance?  You make list after list, check them twice, and decide if you want to be naughty or nice.  Naughty is relative isn't it?  Spending too much, or not enough, might be naughty.  Endulging in something for yourself might be naughty…or maybe not being good to yourself at this time of year might be get you in trouble.  Breathe, be good.

Here's some nice things that happened since we last spoke….Wednesday night the Room 10 boys performed with the band at the school's holiday show.  They played the drums, and they rocked it.  We were in the last row – best view, but bad for photos.  Still, so nice.

I was out shopping with Fallon today, and we scored a pink tree to go with the deer.  Nice.

A nice surprise came in the mail today from Ann Marie and the Festival Ballet of Providence (Rhode Island).  They have permission to use my nutcracker image for their merchandise – this year they made black hoodies with a silver print, and she sent me one!  Thanks Ann Marie.  Nice.  When I took this photo I had an a-ha moment.  Sam collects calendars, and that is all he wants for Christmas.  There are about 40 on the walls of his room.  He has a few perpetual calendars - and he loves this nutcracker with the countdown numbers.  It never occured to me to paint some blocks for him – a gift I'll be making tomorrow.

The local fire station suited up and paraded through our part of town with Santa.  The all-volunteer firemen ran up and down the street delivering candy canes while the sirens blasted and rockin' loud music played.  How nice is that?

We're expecting a big snow storm.  How perfect that I'm almost done preparing and can spend a day wrapping while listening to my Christmas music.  Nice.

    Real Nice !
I am done out there too except for the groceries on Tuesday. Later today we’re getting the storm too. Perfect day for the bake-a-thon or maybe just a good book, eggnog and twinking lights ? I hear some store bought cookies can pass ? But that would be naughty, wouldn’t it ?
I will have a toast to you while listening to Sarah’s Xmas CD and drinking my nog…
    Nice Hugs !

I cant remember when i enjoyed the season last….this is the FIRST year since the kids were little…this is also the first year im not working outside the house, just from home filling orders. I have had Christmas music on since Thanksgiving day, and had the tree up and lit…had the hearth lit, and have baked something or made a homemade liquor every day. We had a little snow that didnt really stick, but a storm on the way here in Union County….the malls werent PACKED, so shopping was quite enjoyable, even getting a chance to dine at Joes in Short Hills without waiting 2 hours for a table…..heres to hoping i was “just naughty enough” to get a nice gift from hubby this year ..HAPPY HOLIDAYS…merry christmas to you and yours

maybe i’ll just call in late for work and spend all day reading artists’ cafe? hmm.

Sweet! Love the pink tree. You’ve now reminded me that I need to bring out the tree that I have in my school colors. The school concert sounds like fun, I’ll bet Sam was really rockin’ out! Enjoy your nice bit of snow πŸ™‚

I was waiting for the naughty, though – or is that not for public blogging? πŸ˜€

Ok, I have to admit I too was waiting for the ‘naughty’ part-lol! Love the pink tree! I think my all male household would disown me if I did that:-) Congrats on the mag, I am going to try and pick one up as I head out of town. I got my copy of ‘Art Journalin’ yesterday! There’s the page with your handcarved stamp street team challange and another with some of your wonderful stamps on them! Thank you for an inspiring year:-)
    Merry Christmas,
    xoxo

please send some snow over to Belgium if you have too much !!!
Without snow, but also enjoying the warmth of the home the coming two weeks !
I’m behind a lot of things, naughty of me, but I’ve been good and made a to-do-list. There are nice things on it ( a lot of creating… must also still make my new yearscards…) and one thing was going to a big booksale today and the new IKEA ( the biggest one in Europe) …
I’ve been naughty and bought myself quite a lot ( there was a lot on sale…) , but don’t feel bad about it: I found creative presents for my 72 year old mom-in-law. She’ll be happy too ..
big smile on the pink tree and Sam… I know how happy children/teenagers like Sam can be when they are give the opportunity to show what THEY can !
    Happy X-mas

Storm slammed Milwaukee… we are buried…hopefully you won’t get nailed as hard as we did, but the kids on my block had a great time building forts all day while the rest of us shoveled and threw our backs out πŸ˜‰

The snow storm has hit and I just came in from clearing the car off and moving some of this champagne powder. I have some yummy homemade soup and french bread waiting for me. Can Christmas really be just 5 days away? Crazy!!! I see your name is right up there with Nick Bantock {a long time favorite of mine} on the cover of artists’ cafe. How cool is that!

Help!…wait!…too much happening everywhere (in the best way)!
The Little Drummer Boy (or Big Drummer Boy!), the pink tree, Santa, your amazing design used by the Ballet, more of you in The Artist’s Cafe….?……I’m running in a circle, excited, inspired and not quite sure what to do with all of this energy. I feel like a VERY tall Jack Russel Terrier. It’s Holiday Joy on a Bullhorn:
THANK YOU FOR THE HUGE DOSE OF FUN!
