me as a student

Susanna and I have been taking a silkscreen printing class.  It’s been fun to be making stencils of a different variety.  It took a few tries so come up with a graphic that jived with film processor’s capabilities.  My first two images were too intricate and the pixilation of them really bugged me.  Tonight I went for big and bold….here’s the one shirt I was able to print!

There is only one station in the classroom where we print so we have to take turns.  I’ll get to print a few more next week.  My kids were so impressed with this shirt – Fallon wants to wear it to school tomorrow, and Peter said "You always say that".  Is it bad to admit I TOTALLY love this and wish I could print dozens and give them away?

Way cool. I love the gothic script 🙂 Nothing wrong with wanting to print lots of them, that’s what screen printing is best for! Why not give one to each month’s GPP street team top hat pick?

I love the screenprinting process. It was my major at art school many many moons ago and I am thrilled to see it’s revival in the last few years. The T looks great!

Wow! Love this cool t-shirt Michelle! Careful, Fallon will be taking orders at school from her super-impressed mates and you’ll spend the rest of your days screen-printing instead of designing rubber stamps…..oh noooooo….don’t do that!!!!

whoops, that last message about spending your days screen-printing was from me (Kelsey), not Vivian…..we work together so I didn’t notice that she had her details entered, not mine….dufus!

Now you have ANOTHER talent to add to your already over-flowing toolbox…
Is there ANYTHING that you can’t do?
I can’t wait to see the graphics that you sling out into the world, via tee shirt…Your fans are waiting…..

Michelle, is that typeface a font or a MW original design?

Michelle – I guess it all depends on context – your shirt is beautiful – but to me, HCIT stands for a ground for divorce (Habitual Cruel and Inhumane Treatment…..)

Thanks for all your comments! It was fun to try something new.
Christine: the font is called Blackletter.
Kelsey: you crack me up….was wondering who Vivian was!
Zanne: that is something I wish you would have kept to yourself.
