growth and growth

The rose bushes are really growing.  They took off so fast this year, before I even had a chance to cut them back.  I love this time of year as we see new growth, whether from the earth, or from ourselves.  I find Spring to be a time for starting new projects, pulling out brighter colors, and seeing everything with a refreshed perspective.

The lawn has been mowed once already….not for trimming grass, but to manage the weeds.  I admit, I do not mind weeds.  Afterall, that is where the clovers grow…..and it's where I find inspiration for adding organic shapes to my journal, Frond Chronicles.  I'm started another one, for my class in July.  Love trying to draw a replica of a real plant, but love making fantasy fronds too.  Check out my pussy willow.  The bunch was set in water at the grocery store so I put them in water at home – never did that before.  And look!  They are growing.  HCIT?  I'll be cut a few new stencils and masks inspired by them!

Maybe you'll come celebrate fronds with me in Jersey in July?  We will focus on making our own tools (stencils and masks), and we will paint pages and make a fab journal.  See HERE for details.

HAPPY EASTER!!

Okay, I did not know that you could make pussy willow grow when you put it in water. And I’m from Missouri! I had them everywhere! I loved them! You teach me everything. Please teach me how to tie sneakers backward. I put them on other people and they always untie.
    yeah.

Love pussy willows! There’s something so unusual about fuzziness coming from a plant, I really like the unexpected look. Like lamb’s ear… who expects a fuzzy leaf? Very cool fantasy fronds, I’m looking forward to the Frond Chronicles workshop!

    Michelle-
I haven’t collected pussy willows in years, but I absolutely adore them!
LOVE the frond masks, especially the first one!! You should have some fantastic pages from those.
Would love to celebrate fronds with you in July! but alas I will have to wait until October to unlock those portals! Should be a fun class tho, can’t wait for your blog update.
    Until later,
    Judy

If you plant those pussy willows in your garden you’ll have a tree eventually! Years ago I had some curly willow in a vase (it had been part of an arrangement) and it rooted in the water. I planted it in the garden and for years we had a curly willow tree. Tropical Storm Isabelle took it down in 2003 :(. It had gotten so big it couldnt’ withstand the winds. I love you’re fantasy fronds!

    Michelle,
I deleted the comment. I don’t know if you know but there was another nasty comment left in September- that posted as you. I deleted it. I have it. Please email me and I will show it to you. Teresa@teresacollinsdesigns.com. I’m sorry someone is doing this to you.
    Thanks so much,

Thank you Teresa. Whoever it is, they are doing it to both of us. And this isn’t the only incident. I’m on the case.
