Yesterday I got to spend a-perfect-weather-day in NYC with my friend Edie.  Time flies when I'm with this girl – had a blast, beginning with a tour of her way-cool apartment.  Then off to Tinsel Trading for another visit with Wendy Addison.  And THEN, I finally got to Metalliferous – a place Beryl Taylor told me about last year.  What a find!  I kinda knew what to expect so I had a wishlist of things to look for which really helped since there is so much to see.  Here's some of my loot.  Those hearts are made of copper mesh!

And now for the reveal on the tree root I showed you earlier….loved all the responses.  It was fun to read what your perspectives were.  I saw England in view No. 2.  I plan on putting it in a box, positioned over a map, with a heart placed over Birmingham (where I met my husband!)

Have a wonderful long weekend!

I have been so out of touch this winter…battling a few demons here on our homefront, but all is well for now. I am so glad your sister is home after a long battle of her own. Sorry I missed the chance to wish her well.
I am going to put the metals store on my list for when we visit our daughter in NYC in July. Tinsel Trading is already on for a third visit as well.
Wish I could have joined you at Valley Ridge, and it looks like the class went well. My class back in April was a gas. We sure have a hidden gem here in WI.
I always enjoy your colorful blog and your wonderful positive view on life.

So it’s England. I had hoped that it might have been the astronaut. No matter. The exercise of considering others’ perspectives was great fun.
Thank you for everything. I’ve been rather delirious with all of this blogging. Never knew it could be so much fun. It’s like the scrapbook that I’ve been telling myself I’ll get to someday and I finally get to do it! I feel like so much catch-up needs to happen before I can just coast with stories from the now.
Can’t wait to see you in NY this summer … and then to blog about it! 🙂

This tree is obvious to me now. I still think it looks like an ent. I have always dreamed of going to that shop…downloaded their catalog…but never placed an order…too overwhelming I guess.

I never would have seen England, but now that you’ve shown us your perspective, by gosh, it looks just like it! I think adding the heart for Birmingham is a super sweet idea…hope you’ll post that artwork when you get it finished.
Great news about Jenny Doh’s new blog, right to the Favorite Places list, and those metal goodies are to die for! xox

Can you hear me going “oooohhh!” all the way from here? Such great stuff — Jenny’s new blog, the great stump of England and Metaliferrous . . . were you over on 37th Street by any chance? Thanks for sharing all the goodies!

It’s always incredibly exciting to visit you Michelle, but when I paged down and saw the Metalliferous name, I slammed on my brakes. That’s where I took the reluctant Ms. Wilkenfeld when we were in New York. We spent two days there (in Metalliferous!!!)…..and I had been there on my last visit. I sift through my goodies, like a pirates booty.
Quite a root you’ve got there, missy. Incredible.
