discomfort zone: orange

I don't do orange.  I don't have orange paint.  But I had to make a page about my new crush:  Cara Cara from Sunkist.  I usually wake up with a glass of orange juice but lately I'm substituting with these.  So juicy, seedless, nearly red interior…they got a celebration in my journal.  No orange?  Red + Yellow does the trick.

Have you stepped out of your comfort zone lately?  I'm feeling a little better about orange today.

OMG I will only eat Cara Cara’s. I found them 3 years ago and have been obsessed ever since. They are pink and deices and remind me a grapefruit and orange. Always, always super juicy. Welcome to the club.

I like orange and I think it’s a great page. And I love how you can make a page for something and celebrate it like this! To me it’s a good reminder that ANYTHING can become a prompt for a page!

This just MIGHT be a favorite page of mine of yours…..
    You know what I mean.
    Serious Gorgeousness.
I want to eat the page.
I want to tattoo it onto my back.

Wait a minute… you have some of your OWN stamps?! Holy moly!
Seriously. I’m loving orange right now. Well, for the past two years or so. I even loved the orange-y rust-y amber-y (okay, no more ‘y’ for now) tones of your Somerset Studio images, which article I LOVED! You are so righto. But I’m not going to go on and on about how right you are all the time.
Except for NOW! You are SO RIGHT about Orange!
(p.s. I have oranges slices all day almost every day. I get these great oranges in bags from Trader Joes–not Cara Cara, but I’m going to check them out–and I slice them and then halve them or even quarter them and pass them around the office and everyone’s slurping away. It’s madness! And for dessert at night!)
    I’m done for now. bye.

@Danee – happy to join your club. I’m late to the game but will definitely be carrying my fan club card from now on.
@Hanna – anything goes with journaling. But we both know that 😉 You are fearless with color…something I feel is a struggle for me.
@Lisa – tattoo? Really? You’re finally ready? *wink*
@Chris – Of course I have my own stamps…I actually design what I want to have and hope they appeal to others. And orange…I have gotten close many times with sienna or copper or amber but rarely step over the line into orange. It was fun!

hi, michelle grey days in N.J. need orange and your post is just great! just got back from a few days with lynne and anne! your name was bandied about in a good way! I’m still captured by circles so your oranges made me want to go right to the studio, but laundry first!

Love that pop of bright color! And I’m not usually into orange either. That’s more my mom’s territory. Now we just need to get you working in blue 😉 Heeheehee…

Gorgeous page, and I’m not much of an orange girl usually either – but have just done a PINK and orange journal entry. Just shows we can do it if we really try!
