We are ready for the party! Last night we finished Fallon's Harlequin costume and had a little dress rehearsal. She really had to twist my arm to get me involved in this one. I did the black diamond eyes. She's not sure. What do you think?

I like the fact that the diamonds are repeated in her face from her legging.
I only have the feeling that it is still a bit too bare….
Maybe you can repeat the black and white diamonds and make a pattern diagonal over her face just on one side…
I don’t know if you understand what I have in mind…

do you have a black necklace- choker -lace ? love the costume but the space between the eyes and the top of the dress looks bare! arent we all critical! just so she has fun! lyle

I like the eyes — only thing I would add and not sure how – is some red “rhinestones” at the tip of the botton part of the black diamonds on her face. One or two? not sure. The could even look like the red tear drop rhinestones. My 2 cents. The costume is GREAT!

Ooh, costume make-up, my specialty! Did I mention I do stage make-up for local amateur theater?
Here’s an idea — do the diamond slightly larger on only one eye, do the other with only generous black eyeliner and mascara confined to the top lid. Make her lovely porcelain skin slightly paler for contrast, then give her bright red lips. This way, the single eye will be a focal point, balanced by the brilliant red lips. If you do something on the cheek, balance it across from the eye that has the diamond.
I hope the beautiful Fallon has a wonderful time in her fabulous costume.
Oh my GOD, that’s fantastic! And how funny that Fallon is Harlequin this year — I’m Columbina! I even posted the other day re: inspiration. I LOVE the eyes. And those leggings are fabulous! I can’t wait to see more photos 🙂
Very cool costume!
I think the diamond eyes are great; the only change I would try out is to make the under-eye slightly smaller than the lid. Narrowing more sharply and maybe even going to a dot or two beyond the points, to suggest a tear. Might look less heavy and even a little more poignant. Like a clown, only sadder. But I don’t know much about the harlequin thing, so that might not be in keeping.
