The original bathroom had pepto bismol pink tub and tiles.  When they ripped it all out they found green and black METAL wall tiles.  Kinda funny that the paint we picked ended up being almost the same green.  I love this new room – so calming.  Love how the edges of the glass in the light fixture on the wall, the ceiling, and mirror have that same bottle green when the light shines through it.  The accent tile in the shower is glass – hard to see in this photo, but very cool.  I have a cigar box of sea glass I will use to make another piece of art to go in here.  The hamper on the side of the vanity actually has the bottom cut out, sits over a framed hole in the floor, and acts as a clothes shoot chute* to the laundry just below.  A clothes shoot chute* !  Just like when we were kids.

I've posted a new crusade over on the street team blog.  This month we are painting without brushes - adding layers of paint with an old credit card.  Come over and play!  Crusade No. 44.  Below is the beginning of the piece that ended up going up in the bathroom.  After testing out some ideas in my journal I tried it on watercolor paper.

The kids are back in school so I am fending off the blues by getting my kits and supplies ready for the workshops later this month.  Looks like Earl has subsided enough that we have nothing to worry about, whew!  I'm still waiting for the rubber to arrive.  I'm sorry for the delay.  All orders are labeled and packed with index sheets so I can send out as soon as the inventory arrives.

* EDIT:  after Tina's comment I scratched my head and wondered if I had spelled chute wrong.  I did!!  It is pronounced shoot, but spelled chute.  She used *shute* which is also correct.    Thanks Tina.

Pretty, pretty color in the bathroom–I too love that green edge in the glass, and glass tiles are something I adore.
Can’t wait to see the kits… three weeks! Yay!

OMG you have art in your bathroom ! I love it ! Your bathroom looks like a great place to relax, don’t know if you actually have a bathtub, but wouldn’t it be awesome to take long hot bubblebaths in this bathroom ? Love your art too, can’t wait to try the Crusade. But, this weekend I need to paint something else, our home on the outside ! That’s the kind of painting I don’t like LOL

Thanks everyone! We love our new bathroom, and yes, it does have a tub. I revised the post with an edit, thanks to Tina. I knew ‘shoot’ didn’t look right but I was too lazy to look it up.

Your bathroom remodel is awesome – love the colors, especially the glass accents in the shower enclosure and your personal art. Also, thanks for the update on the rubber – I am like a kid waiting for Christmas.

Had to laugh! My bathroom was Navajo white and I painted it lime green and fuchsia (only a shade darker than Pepto)! Love the leaves.

I have to come out of lurkdom to tell you that we had that awful pepto bathroom too and I hated it with a passion. Oddly enough when we redid it guess what colour the paint is? Yep, green. Great minds!

Come to think of it, my 1st MIL had a powder room that was Pepto pink, yellow and grey–and the jeep was painted the same colors! *Really* ugly. My bathroom, when it is redone, will be light grey with white trim and will have glass shelves for my collection of hippopotamuses. I mean, where else would you put a hippo?

What a serene space; wonderful. Our first house had a 70s bathroom in lime green orange and brown. I pulled the wallpaper off and lived with white undercoat for years 😉

Thanks Michelle – and Tina! You provided my “something new I learned today”. We had a laundry chute when I was little, too; my brother would drop baby sister’s special bunny down the chute to tease her. I can’t count how many times I walked those stairs to the laundry with her crying and worrying about her bunny, only to find him safely perched on top of the dirty laundry. Brothers are soooo mean.
Your new bath is so clean and cool looking. Love your color choices.

It looks beautiful! The wall art is perfect. Wish I had a laundry chute…

    Hello Michelle,
What a difference with the first photos of the bathroom !
I completely love it : it’s in my colors too…
The idea of a chute is great , but wouldn’t work for me… the laundry would end up in my kitchen ! LOL
I have some artwork too in my bathroom, but not by myself… Yours is great : you know I really love this backgroundtechnique ! I love how you layered the stencils and the effect your created.
It’s OK about the stamps : I know they will arrive…
    greetings from Belgium
