Blackbird Fly

While I’m in the process of learning digital design, I find it’s a great resource for trying things out.

Here are two journal pages that only exist on my hard drive.  They began as painted pages and

then I started applying custom PS brushes using some of the new images that will be available in

rubber next month.  Playing with composition and scale digitally saved alot of copy paper – my

former process was to draw the designs, then copy them in several sizes so I could put them to

use and see if they worked as stamps.  The cool thing about designing unmounted rubber is that

you can make the images as large as you want – no restrictions on having to fit a wood mount.

Look for some HUGE stamps from Green Pepper Press soon!

For the past week, I’ve been doing backgrounds in a journal, using a lot of the techniques learned in your class last year, so I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately! Recuperation won’t be so bad after all, as long as I can keep playing:)
Funny you should mention HUGE stamps. Just the other day, I was going through my stamps and not finding anything big enough, and was wishing someone would do just that. So, anxiously waiting for them to be released.
LOVE the digital spread-it looks like it’s lit from behind. Cool effect!

Michelle…this digital piece is gorgeous. I love the vibrant, luscious colors. You are making me drool with your talk of the new stamps and the little peeks and hints you give….can’t wait.
