One hundred and seven.  No, it's not the temperature here.  It's how old Zelda Fitzgerald would be on July 24th if she were still alive.  I made a book and paper doll of her for Lynne Perrella's book Beyond Paper Dolls (2006), then followed it up with an article "An Ode to Zelda" in the March/April 2007 issue of Somerset Studio magazine.  Love that brilliant soul.

These are incredible! I especially like the “she was born to brighten the world one…”. Are you selling prints of these images? Let me know… And I’m definitely going to be checking out Zelda at the library. Good work!

So So Cool. Love the pages, but I love even more the slide show function and how the images kind of drop into the viewer…

Michelle, these are wonderful. Thanks for your artistic exploration of Zelda’s force of personality and creativity. The Fitzgeralds’ story has always fascinated me. I’ve wondered what Scott’s life would have been without Zelda and vice versa.
Coincidentally, I moved to Asheville about four years ago — as you know, Zelda died here in 1948 in a fire at the sanatorium she’d been in for years. She died eight years after Scott’s death of a heart attack in So. California. She was 48 when she died; he was 44. Pretty sad story all the way around.
