  • Scott Campbell exhibit in NY

    When I first saw his work I gasped.  His tattooed chair was in a Bergdorf Goodman window display.  Amazingly clever.  It made me want to investigate, to get to know the artist with the diabolical mind.  With a few google clicks I ended up on his website – and learned he has talent beyond tattooing.  I swooned over his laser cut designs.  So my jaw dropped when I saw this online article announcing his upcoming show.  Next week, in New York City.  I know, squeee!  I will be there!

  • there’s an app for that?

    It's become part of our vernacular.  I cracked up when Castle said it in a recent episode.  Here's one I discovered today:  a virtual lighter.  Perfect for concert goers.  I was watching Oprah this afternoon and during Elton John's performance of Tiny Dancer (my fave!) there were audience people holding up their phones with flickering flames.  The coolest!  I don't even have an iphone but had to share this.  Found via Alan @ Artoftheiphone.com  (You can also search lighter or glowstick on itunes).

    When Graham took Peter to his first concert (KISS) the band requested that everyone open and hold up their phones (back when they still had hinges) and the place was glowing in white and blue.   No burned fingers (or hair) or sore thumbs from reflicking.  I thought that was remarkably clever….until I saw these.  I think I have a reason to get an iphone now ;)

    Don't you love when you find something cool and want to give it to everyone you know?  That's how I felt about these handsome and clever flower pins.  I found Lynda on etsy and think she has something really special going on.  I got myself, my mother, and a few friends some of these.  Look how pretty her wrappings and ribbons are too!  Maybe you'll find just the right color for a Mother's Day gift.  Her shop is HERE.

    First, another RubyTuesday spread.  It may or may not be finished.  I let the pages get super dry before I decide if I'm going to write on them or add a little something else.  Sometimes it will be days before I look at them again.  I tend to prefer pages without writing so I will probably leave it.  It's more fun to start a new set of pages.  Keep moving forward.

    Second, Fallon and I met Edie in the city to see the Burton exhibit at the MoMA…but the times tix were sold out.  Duh!  Should have checked.  We still a grand day.  It was a sunny and glorious afternoon in New York.  We stumbled upon a cool shop – just opened that day!  How cool is this scarf?  Large enough to be a poolside wrap.

    Also scored a garland light by Tord Boontje.  I am a fan.  It was hanging there whispering to me…couldn't resist.  Look at this video.  Can't wait to hang it in my bedroom.

    We had seen a group of kilted men on the train…and later ran into hundreds of kilted men, women, and children marching in the St. Andrews parade on 6th.  I loved all the pomp, and the bagpipes made me swoon.  I would love to try playing one.  Has anyone done it?  Tell tell.
