Since there were lots of little scraps of carving block littering the table, I made them useful and carved symbols for map-making. Thinking about land and grids it was a natural progression to arrive at maps don't you think? Well, it doesn't end here. More coming.

thanks kim – yes, i miss what blogging used to be. sadly it seems most traffic only arrives here via facebook or pinterest. conversation through blogs is almost non-existent. thankfully friends like you still stop by 🙂 and yes, rocks!! xo

I am guilty of blog absence. It makes me wonder if we could bring back the golden age, as Kim calls it, by edging away from facebook. Regardless, isn’t it a wonder how even a tiny scrap of carving material can become something expressive and useful? I’d happily follow one of your paths through the rocks and trees and shrubs, landing on the “X.” Sort of like Chutes and Ladders. xo
